PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP®) Exam prep course

PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP)® certification is based on PMI’s international Practice standards (2009 and 2019 editions) for Project Risk Management, which include internationally recognized risk management principles, concepts, processes, tools and techniques. The course is aimed at people who work with risk management and / or want to get to know PMI’s approach to risk management and / or want to prepare for the PMI Risk Management Professional – (PMI-RMP) ® exam.

The PMI-RMP certification programme is distinguished by its focus on both the plan-based, the agile and hybrid project risk management approach.

Risk Management is first and foremost about understanding how to identify relevant risks, analyze the likelihood that they will occur, what consequences risks may entail and finally how to deal with them if they arise. Risks can also open up new avenues and opportunities, and risk management is also about turning emerging risks into benefits and ensuring stakeholder involvement.

The PMI-RMP® certification prep course provides valuable knowledge about the quantitative and qualitative techniques associated with risk analysis.

The course aims to equip the participants to subsequently apply PMI’s Risk Management principles, concepts, processes, techniques and methods as well as complete the Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) ® certification exam.

This course is distinguished by including both the plan-based and the agile approach to risk management.

PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP)® builds on the Project Risk Management knowledge area (Chapter 11) contained in PMI’s Project Management Body of Knowledge PMBOK® Guide 6th edition and supplemented with knowledge from PMI’s Project Management Body of Knowledge PMBOK® Guide 7th edition.

This course is targeted toward a diverse range of managers, project managers, risk managers, risk professionals and staff members who wish to acquire the necessary skills to successfully manage risks in projects. No requirements for attending the course however requirements do exits for completing the certification(PMI-RMP) with PMI – See details in the section on prerequisites for details regarding the actual PMI-RMP certification. This is a certification prep course which helps you pass the PMI-RMP exam first time.

Course components

The course is based on PMI’s Examination Content Outline (ECO) and also contains an introduction to risk management and the context of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) ® guide 6th edition as well as the Risk management standards from 2009 and 2019.

PMI-RMP certification exam

In order to be able to attend the exam the participants must apply to PMI. The requirements are risk management experience and education, and with this PMI-RMP® prep course you will be able to obtain the 30-40 PDUs required. The exam will take place after the course online 0r at a test center. You decide and schedule yourself when to sit the exam (1 year voucher)

PMI-RMP Certification exam format

Once you have been approved by PMI, you can register for the exam. You decide the date and time and the exam will be held at a Thomson Prometric test center.

The PMI-RMP certification exam is a “multiple choice” exam in English. There are 170 questions + 20 test questions that do not count. The duration of the exam is 3.5 hours. You must have a minimum of 67% correct answers to pass the exam. At present, more than 80% of our students pass the exam.

Upon passing the exam, you obtain the title as PMI-RMP® (Risk Management Professional) certified.

Practical information:

Duration: 3 days (6 live webinar sessions à 3,5 hours (21 Hours))

Language: The training will be conducted in English (all course materials are in English)

Location: The live training will take place online via live webinar or as face to face classroom training (only as inhouse company courses).

Course format: Combination of live training conducted by an accredited PMI ATP PMP trainer and with the use of PMIs official licensed resources
